Purim is a joyous Jewish holiday on Adar 14, commemorating the saving of Jews from a threatened massacre in ancient Persia. A cherished
tradition is exchanging food gifts, called mischloah manos, among friends, family, and neighbors. These gifts can be elaborate baskets of
wine and desserts or simple bags of fruit and cookies, symbolizing the triumph of the Jewish people over their enemies.
