Hi, I'm Shaya and I'm going to Israel for the first time for my Bat Mitzvah in December. My parents and Rosie visited Shalva in March and had a very special experience with the participants there. Shalva provides care for individuals with disabilities in Israel, empowering their families and promoting social inclusion. All the services in this warm and welcoming environment are non-denominational and free of charge.
My parents said it was very inspiring. When I heard about their experience, I knew that I wanted to interact with Shalva participants on my trip, and that I wanted my mitzvah project to involve Shalva. I'm so excited to help raise money for Shalva, and I really hope that you will help too.
Last year Shalva moved into their stunning new national center in Jerusalem. Not one dollar is ever asked of the families serviced there; every single aspect of Shalva's facilities and care is state of the art, including their fitness center with semi-Olympic and hydrotherapy pools, countless classrooms and therapy spaces used by programs from newborns and mothers through the after-school program for elementary and high school students. Shalva is also home to completely accessible parks, a 400-seat auditorium with unprecedented wheelchair access, a café with employees who are Shalva alumnae and much, much more.
Add into the equation Shalva's staff who are so incredibly professional, loving and kind, as well as all the plans for the future in their new center, and you've got one of the most important leaders in care for people with disabilities in the world.
Your generous support will be much appreciated and you make a 100% tax deductible donation on my easy-to-use Shalva website. Just click on the "Sponsor Shaya" button on this page. Please feel free to share this email with anyone who you think might be interested in donating to Shalva.
I hope that together we can help support this truly special place. On behalf of the children and families of Shalva, thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
Love, Shaya
