Dear Family and Friends,
My mom recently traveled to Israel and visited Shalva National Center. Shalva is an organization for kids (and adults) with disabilities that offers education, sports, therapy and more. She instantly fell in love with this place and knew that I would also. After showing me her photos and videos, she was right. I knew that I wanted my Bar Mitzvah project to benefit Shalva.
I have decided to combine my passion for swimming and working with kids with special needs to challenge myself to swim a mile in under 45 minutes. I hope you will sponsor me to help raise money for the hydrotherapy program at Shalva.
Hydrotherapy allows kids to swim freely when they may have more difficult moving freely on land. In the water, children learn how to trust themselves, their bodies and the society around them. It also gives parents and caregivers a chance to connect better with their children.
My goal is to raise $1,800 for this wonderful place. I am planning to donate a portion of my gifts, but please consider making a donation to help me reach my goal.
