Hi, my name is Eliana. I am 11 years old, and my bat mitzvah is coming up! We are all born with superpowers that make us each different and unique. What makes me unique is that I have a disability called ADHD. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder. That means your brain works differently and has a different way of taking in information. Sometimes focusing is more challenging, and you get more hyper than others. I know that’s what gives me my superpowers, and with the proper support, I can achieve any goal! So, for my bat mitzvah, I decided to raise money for a program called Shalva. Shalva is where families go with differently-abled children and help them to discover their superpowers through different therapies and activities. Through this program, children learn their importance in this world and feel more connected to one another. I picked Shalva because it is such a wonderful community, and one day hope to be an ambassador for the organization. I hope to raise enough to run a carnival for differently-abled kids by selling customizable water bottles! It has always been a goal of mine to teach the world that no matter our differences, we all have superpowers! I am looking forward to and very excited to start this journey, so please come along with me.
